Choose the edition before the setting
Open a title and use Watch now to compare viewing options for your country. The chosen edition determines which resolutions, audio tracks and player controls are available. A sharp catalogue poster does not establish that the film is offered in 4K.
HD or 1080p?
Use the quality level your connection can sustain. On a smaller phone, a stable HD picture may be preferable to a higher resolution that pauses repeatedly. A larger television can make extra detail more noticeable, but the service and device still need to support the selected edition.
What does adaptive quality do?
Where supported, adaptive bitrate changes the stream quality as the connection changes. A manual setting gives you a fixed choice instead. If buffering begins, pause briefly, check whether other heavy transfers are active and try a lower supported quality setting.
